The villa is built in the colonial Dutch style with towering pillars, an expansive veranda, high archways and soaring timber ceilings. The villa features two spacious double suites on either side of a luxurious sitting room, which are beautifully decorated with antiques, artwork and furnishings from South Asia and beyond..
Enjoy views of the sea from the comfort of the sitting room, under fans that provide respite from the tropical heat. Local antique paintings carpet the walls as you relish the timelessness of your elegant surroundings. The sea-view veranda at the back of the villa offers a variety of areas to relax during both day and night. In fact, you may never want to leave!
There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There are 2 Master Suites with king beds and an additional third bedroom with two single beds. Each bedroom is ensuite with an A/C unit and overhead fan. Each of the Master Suites has its own sea-facing veranda with private sitting area.
Between the Master Suites, a tastefully-decorated sitting room features antique Sri Lankan furnishings alongside modern amenities, giving the villa an essential modern touch. Upon entering, you are taken aback by breathtaking views of the sea as you indulge in barefoot luxury.
Our sea-view timber deck is bordered by a grassy lawn and is just steps away from a private beach. The pool also offers gorgeous views of the beach and plenty of lounging opportunities. At night, the pool and garden come alive, giving the property an enchanting glow.
Villa 1322 is also ideally situated for exploring Sri Lanka?s natural wonders. Only 20 minutes away lies Mirissa, where tours are available to discover one of the World?s ?Top Hot Spots? for whale watching. Two hours to the north, you will find the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This national park and UNESCO World Heritage site hosts countless species of flaura and fauna endemic to Sri Lanka.
The villa is fully staffed with a cook who can create a delectable menu of dishes ranging from East to West. The kitchen is also available for guests to cook for themselves. You can discuss your meal options with the villa manager each morning and give the staff cash to do all of the shopping on your behalf.
