The Weather
Orpheus Island enjoys a warm tropical climate with an average temperature of 27?C (80?F) throughout the year. Water temperatures range from around 21?C (69?F) in winter to 29?C (84?F) in summer. The wet season typically runs from November to April and may bring occasional rainfall. During the cooler, drier months from May to October, south-easterly winds create pleasantly warm conditions with reduced humidity and abundant sunshine.

While the reef surrounding Orpheus Island remains in excellent condition, some areas have been impacted by coral bleaching, cyclones and the coral-eating Crown of Thorns starfish.
